Job Description – LIFEDesigns, Inc. Volunteer INTERN Position
To partner with and promote independence for people with disabilities.
Role: Special Events Intern
Supervisor: Director of Development
General responsibilities: This role is an unpaid internship consisting of 40 hours per week for 12 weeks for a total number of 480 hours. Hours will be dependent on the individual who fills this role, but will happen mostly between 9-5pm at LIFEDesigns main office at 200 E. Winslow Rd., Bloomington, IN 47401. This internship begins in the summer, specific dates dependent on the student who fills the internship. The specific events the intern will assist with are the Annual Picnic, Week of Chocolate, Golf Scramble, Halloween Party, Holiday Party, Donor Reception and planning other activities. The Week of Chocolate events will happen February. The student is not required, but asked to continue as a volunteer committee member through the end of the Week of Chocolate events.
The role will require excellent organization skills, professionalism, some writing skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize. Technical skills and experience used in this role will be Microsoft Office, basic design skills, online auction software, internal and external communication skills, and project management.
LIFEDesigns annual picnic and golf scramble is our major events during the Summer Internship. The student will be oriented to the development department and learn tasks such as mailing campaigns, social media marketing, fundraising, and donor relationship building. Tasks generally will be related to planning of LIFEDesigns events, however some tasks will be generally administrative tasks related to fundraising or development.

Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Documentation of freedom from communicable diseases
- Submission of three positive references
