Homes for the Homeless – Volunteers Needed to Help Set-Up Crawford Apartments

LIFEDesigns has an opportunity for volunteers all day on Friday, August 30th.

We are requesting assistance in two shifts –

  • 8:00am to 12:00pm
  • 1:00pm to 5:00pm

to help us set-up the Crawford apartments, located at 2440 South Henderson Street near the corner of Henderson and Winslow, right behind the ReStore. Crawford apartments house individuals with disabilities who are chronically homeless. The apartments provide permanent supportive housing and holistic services including employment, counseling, health and wellness, and others to assist these individuals to stay housed.

There are 25 apartments to set-up on August 30th. It should 2-3 people take 1 hour to set-up one apartment.

Set-up includes unpacking boxes of household items and putting them away. These items include things such as towels, sheets, kitchen utensils, dinnerware, drink ware, cooking items, basic toiletries, trashcans, cleaning supplies, curtains, very small appliances, etc. Apartments will already be furnished, no furniture will need to be assembled or moved.

For more information or to sign up please contact Leslie Abshier, LIFEDesigns’ Community Development Officer, at 812-332-9615 ext: 218 or labshier (at) lifedesignsinc.org by Wednesday, August 28th at 5:00pm!
