2020 Recipe Book

This year in celebration of the Week of Chocolate expanding to the Month of Chocolate, the Art of Chocolate Recipe books were created. The recipe books consist of chocolate dessert themed recipes submitted by local chefs and community members, and paintings of each recipe done by the Bloomington Watercolor Society members. Additionally, several of our clients and a short story about each of them are included in the book as well. This new recipe book has been wildly popular this year!

Oliver Winery sponsored the recipe books, and several of the restaurants who submitted recipes are selling the books at their restaurants! We originally ordered 250 copies of the books. We are down to around ONLY 50 copies left! If you might be interested in having an original first edition copy of the recipe book, you may want to get yours NOW! Please share this info with friends, family, and others who may be interested.

You may order books online by clicking here and pick them up in the office, or pay at the office. Books are $15.00+ donation to LIFEDesigns each. If you will need yours mailed to you, there is an additional $5.00 fee for postage.

Month of Chocolate Recipe Books will also be sold at the following locations:

  • Bloomington Chocolate Company
  • Cardinal Spirits
  • Bloomington Antique Mall

Month of Chocolate History
Bloomington has been celebrating the Month of Chocolate since 1997, each year and each event unique. Local businesses host chocolate themed events that celebrate a love of chocolate that goes back to ancient times! Each year, there are over 10 events with a different themes. Not only does this festival taste amazing, but it also offers an opportunity to raise funds to support various causes in the community. Don’t forget to get your Chocolate Passport stamped at each event you attend! Bloomington Chocolate Company will award you with a FREE box of Truffles if you turn in your stamped passport at their store in the “Olive Leaf” by College Mall.

Formerly known as Week of Chocolate, this festival has changed quite a bit over the years. Starting as a single event in 1997 and eventually growing to a week long series of events in 2008 when other non-profits were invited to join LIFEDesigns and host their own chocolate themed fundraising events, and again expanding to multiple weeks in 2016 when for profit businesses were invited to host events benefiting a nonprofit. In 2018 restaurants started featuring chocolate desserts or cocktails as a stop on the passport. As we look to the future, we expect to see further growth as more excitement builds for this community wide festival!
