LIFEDesigns is a growing organization. As the agency grows, employee recruitment becomes a major focus. Our HR & Marketing team would like a volunteer or intern to assist planning recruitment activities and advertisements. This role would work closely with our Human Resources Director and Chief Development Officer in planning advertising strategies, designing ads and recruitment campaigns, and attending job and volunteer fairs. Skills needed for this role are strong communication skills, graphic design and marketing skills are a plus, and a positive energy.
Continuing Education Coordinator
LIFEDesigns Continuing Education program offers a variety of learning opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. The classes provide life skills and extended learning opportunities for the class participants in different locations within the community. This role will assist the LIFEDesigns Education Manager to create and schedule classes for the program. This role will allow for a lot of creativity and will require excellent communication skills. The role will organize locations, volunteers, and materials used in classes. The role will focus on planning of future classes to be offered in the Spring 2016 semester and beyond.
Continuing Education Assistants
The Continuing Education program offers a variety of learning opportunities for people with disabilities in the community. The classes provide life skills and extended learning opportunities for the people attending class in different locations within the community. The Continuing Education Assistant would be responsible for providing assistance to the people taking the class with the completion of classroom tasks. This volunteer will assist the instructor before and after the class begins with setting up supplies and clean up as needed. This volunteer opportunity offers emotional rewards as you watch people experience the excitement of learning new skills and accomplishing their goals. Classes occur during the week from 9am-3pm; volunteers can choose which particular classes and times work best for them.
Employee Development Volunteer/Intern
LIFEDesigns is seeking a volunteer or intern to assist with data entry and record maintenance. This opportunity will provide experience with a variety of easy-to-learn software programs like Provide and Train Track. Training for this opportunity will be provided. The person in this role will report to the Employee Development Coordinator. Approximately 4-5 hours per week would be ideal. The schedule is flexible between normal business hours on weekdays.
Administrative Assistant Volunteer/Intern
This role reports to the Administrative Assistant for Supported Living. The schedule is flexible during weekdays between 9-5. Applicable tasks would include typing, copying, scanning, filing, and other administrative duties as needed. Must be able to commit between 4-5 hours per week.

LIFEDesigns is seeking a volunteer to coordinate relationships between volunteers and interns and their appropriate supervisors and LIFEDesigns. Duties would include coordinating and managing communications to volunteers and interns, directing potential volunteers to the right opportunity, be a point of reference for volunteers and interns to ensure smooth transitions, and promoting volunteer and intern opportunities. This role would report to the Community Development Officer, and would only require about 3 hours per week. The schedule is very flexible, and for the right candidate, additional learning experiences are possible.
Supported Employment Advocate
LIFEDesigns provides employment support and career counselling to adults with developmental disabilities to empower them to successfully create their resume, apply for and find a job, and keep that job. The employment team is seeking to fill a role which will work with our employment team to organize their contacts in the customer relationship management (CRM) tool and database. The role will also be responsible for establishing a campaign to increase awareness of supported employment among local business managers and owners.
Information Technology Specialist
LIFEDesigns maintains computers for all office employees and throughout different locations where direct support employees work with LIFEDesigns customers. LIFEDesigns employs over 320 people, and supports over 345 customers. This role will assist the IT Systems Coordinator to maintain the agency’s hardware inventory, including troubleshooting and repair and computer refurbishing. The role will also be responsible for training employees basic computer skills required for their job as needed, i.e. how to use company email. The successful candidates will gain experience managing data and writing and running reports in Provide. This role will take on a special project of assisting the agency to plan for their future needs and Technology purchases through research of decentralized systems and cloud based data storage options.
Web Content Manager
LIFEDesigns is seeking a volunteer or intern to assist with website content strategy and content management. This role will require the use of Word Press. This role will offer experience in content development, website development, and website design. Skills needed for this role are experience using WordPress and the Adobe Suite, strong marketing communications skills, and the ability to be resourceful and innovative. The schedule is flexible, and much of the work can be done remotely.
