Customer of the Month! Team of the Month! DSP of the Month!
Do you know someone who is innovative, positive or made an outstanding contribution? Nominate LIFEDesigns staff or individuals served for Customer of the Month, Team of the Month, or Direct Support Professional of the Month by completing a nomination form and returning to a Team Manager or the Office Manager by the first of the month. Annual Employee Survey
LIFEDesigns conducts an Annual Employee Survey to get feedback on how we are doing and what we need to do. Your responses are held confidential and only a summary is provided to Board and Leadership Team members. The information is used to gauge progress and to develop improvement plans. Please feel free to give ideas for making LIFEDesigns better. The 2013 Annual Employee Survey is HERE
EDR
All staff should use the Employee Development Review to get feedback on their job performance. At least one EDR quarterly (minimum of 4 annually) are required. Staff can ask for feedback from co-workers, supervisors, and individuals they serve, and parents/guardians. Staff can also do self evaluations. Completed EDR forms should be submitted to Human Resources and will be reviewed at least annually during the Employee Review process.
Orientation
New employees at LIFEDesigns are required to complete a combination of online, classroom, and on-the-job training designed to prepare them for their new positions.
In addition to agency and customer specific training, our orientation program provides certification in:

The American Red Cross CPR and First Aid

The Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

Core A and B Living in the Community – Medication Administration
-
The State of Indiana’s new Foundations of Direct Support

You will obtain a username and password upon hire.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education
All DSPs in the state of Indiana are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education each
year.
The renewal training includes training on:

Customer rights and prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation

Communication and team building
-
Health and safety issues
-
Medication administration
-
Crisis management
-
CPR/FA (These certifications must be renewed by each employee before it expires).
Library Resources
LIFEDesigns maintains a library of books, videos, DVDs, and training guides on disability-support related topics at the main office. Additional items may be accessed through the IIDC’s CeDIR Library
